DESCRIPTION OF WORK Join the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services as a Legal Assistant 1 and play a pivotal role in supporting legal and clerical tasks. As part of our team, you will showcase exceptional organizational and communication skills in processing appeals and fair hearings. This role involves providing vital legal support, ensuring timely appeals processing, and maintaining compliance with regulations. Other responsibilities will include reviewing related legal documents, correspondence, and the decisions written by the bureau's Administrative Law Judges (ALJs). You must demonstrate your capacity to work independently and collaborate with others in this role. You will have the chance to advance your skills and knowledge by working closely with Legal Assistant 2s.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: After the successful completion of your probationary or training period, the opportunity for part-time telework may become available. While the primary work location is the office, eligibility for telework and its availability will be determined by individual circumstances and the operational requirements of the bureau. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Philadelphia. Salary:The starting salary is non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of responsible clerical, enforcement or investigative work; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
