Provide technical leadership in designing and developing new software and web applications using Core Java to operate in a multi-threaded environment that supports thread pooling; use HTTP and Web Protocols including GET and POST; design systems and subsystems using UML; work with microservice architecture and technologies; triage and troubleshoot issues in a DevOps environment; use Linux and JavaScript; analyze technical requirements; support applications under development and customize current applications; assist with the software update process for existing applications, and roll-outs of software releases; analyze, test, and assist with the integration of new applications; document all development activity; research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports; monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products; review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects; collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements; conduct analysis to determine integration needs; work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements; and guide and mentor junior-level engineers. Position is eligible for 100% remote work.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, and five (5) years of experience developing software using Core Java; operating in a multi-threaded environment that supports thread pooling; using HTTP and Web protocols including GET and POST; of which three (3) years include designing systems and subsystems using UML; working with microservice architecture and technologies; triaging and troubleshooting issues in a DevOps environment; of which one (1) year includes using Linux and JavaScript; and analyzing technical requirements. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, the employer will accept an additional two (2) years of experience developing software using Core Java.*
