At Anser Advisory, a part of Accenture, we are looking for a Safety Manager to join our growing Utilities team! The Safety Manager shall monitor and inspect all aspects of construction safety and shall have no duty other than safety supervision of persons, equipment and property affected by the Work. They shall review all safety work plans and report of any issues during project when it comes to safety.

The work:

  • Perform oversight of construction activity on behalf of the client, report on contractor regulatory and contract safety compliance.

  • Monitor compliance to all current OSHA requirements that relate to the specific construction projects.

  • Perform daily safety reviews of work in progress in accordance with current Safety Regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as developed and updated by the client.

  • Monitor adherence to Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) requirements and procedures.

  • Support to the Program Safety Manager, including but not limited to, attending any required meetings, or providing safety reports/analysis as requested.

  • Attend construction meeting with college project team and general contractor. Leading the safety topic (toolbox), report on site observations (Observation Report) and review upcoming construction schedule for hazard preparedness.

  • Perform ongoing construction site safety inspections and generate daily safety report for all site visits.

  • Submit weekly Project Health Safety and Environmental Observation Report to College Project Manager.

  • Perform ongoing review, for completion and accuracy, of contractor safety submittals, JHA, MOP, Fall Protection Plans, Crane Lift Plans, Excavation and Scaffold Erecting Plans, Confined Space Entry and hazard assessment of other high risk operations.

  • Perform review of contractor submitted incident reports, participate in safety stand-downs, and prepare and submit lessons learned to Program Safety Manager.

  • Perform and document safety orientation with contractor safety representative.

  • Monitor adherence to zero tolerance and corrective action policy for workers found not in compliance with the Program’s safety policy.

Here's what you need:

  • Construction management safety management safety engineer or related degree is preferred.

  • 15 years of construction safety related experience. This Includes:• Minimum 15 years of experience in construction safety• Minimum 5 years of managing multiple projects in different stages of construction at multiple jobsite locations• Minimum 5 years field experience as Construction Safety Consultant working with General Contractors and Subcontractors• Minimum 5 years of experience working with OCIP• Minimum of 5 years of experience with DSA• Minimum of 5 years of experience with Safety Management for Public Sector Construction.

  • Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER• Current OSHA 500 (Trainer in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry)• Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification• Minimum of holding a valid Safety Management Specialist (SMS) certificate issued by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) or Certified Safety Manager Construction (CSMC) certificate issued by the National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP)• Proficiency with Microsoft office and related spreadsheet and database software

Bonus Points if you have:

• Experience on modernization-type projects involving asbestos and lead-based paint disturbance.

• Extensive knowledge and experience with senior safety management with large building programs across multiple sites

• Flexibility in schedule and transportation to work at multiple sites based on assigned schedule and duties throughout the greater Philadelphia area.

• Ability to work in fast-paced environment, establish daily work priorities, and perform oversight at multiple active construction projects.

• Additional safety/health certifications and credentials.

As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, New York, Washington, and the District of Columbia . The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set and level of experience. $131,300—$269,100 USD
