Accounting Manager - 7930

Accounting Manager Chubb is seeking an Accounting Manager who will report to the AVP of General Ledger Close and be responsible for helping manage and direct specific accounting deliverables and processes for North America. This candidate will interact with a diverse group of internal personnel, including other financial professionals, technology experts, and functional staff to manage recurring deliverables as well as process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities: Specific deliverables may include: * Quarterly internal reporting deliverables; most notably the Chubb USA balance sheet flux analysis * Review and oversight of complex routine and non-routine journal entries * Oversight of accounting related to more complex processes * Review of account reconciliations for various US business units * Review of financial statements of affiliated non-insurance entities * Supervise and develop professional staff * Assist with special projects and other assigned duties. * Support of North America Finance goals/objectives, as well as those of Chubb Group Finance

Successful candidates should be able to: * Influence change across key constituents; remove obstacles to achieve objectives. * Apply resource management and technology solutions to enhance existing processes. * Demonstrate agility by managing and prioritizing workload to meet department and client expectations. * Advise management on the emergence and progress of deliverables, as well as the appearance of issues or obstacles.

 

QUALIFICATIONS Competencies:  * Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses * High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Strong leadership skills  * Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines * Strong organizational skills and proven ability to work independently * Ability to identify priorities and manage time efficiently * Ability to work effectively and influence with all levels throughout a large organization * Enthusiastic self-starter * Critical thinking skills * Demonstrates integrity and dedication * Mastery of end user applications (e.g., Microsoft products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access)  *   Education and Experience:  * Bachelor's degree in Business, major in Accounting or Finance; MBA highly desirable   * Minimum of 8 years of accounting or financial planning and analysis experience * Experience managing a team  * Public Accounting experience and CPA designation preferred * Insurance experience a plus  * Project Management experience a plus
