THE POSITION

Do you have professional expertise in roadway programs and thrive in a leadership role? The Department of Transportation (DOT) is searching for a committed and creative Roadway Programs Manager. Your role will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities and field operations related to Pennsylvania's pavement programs. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will manage activities and field operations related to the systematic techniques to analyze and manage Pennsylvania's pavements programs and the statewide automated data collection, inventory and analysis of pavement distress program. You will manage personnel and equipment to ensure contract compliance, testing productivity, and effectiveness. You will be a technical expert and liaison to the department, management, and public regarding videologging, condition data testing and interpretation, including equipment and programs. Additionally, you will support the roadway management system by coordinating data collection and compiling reports for DOT personnel and management.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

  • Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Roadway Programs Technician Supervisor or Roadway Programs Specialist or one year experience as a Roadway Programs Coordinator ;or

  • Two years of professional experience in the analysis, development and implementation of methods and techniques used in a roadway maintenance management system and a bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or in a civil engineering related discipline; or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
