Accountant
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required with minimum of 3 yrs. work experience
Transactional accounting experience, including account analysis, reconciliations and month-end closing processes
Highly proficient in Excel
Attention to details a must
Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
- ERP systems experience
Essential or Primary / Key Responsibilities:
Assure all accounting transactions are accurately processed in accordance with GAAP on a timely basis.
Independently execute the monthly system process close, prepare journal entries, create supporting schedules and create the monthly financial statements.
Reconcile, adjust and maintain Balance Sheet Account analysis including: cash & investments, prepaids, fixed assets, payroll/benefits and other accrued liabilities.
Responsible for accurate fixed assets and CIP subledgers reflected on the financials, to include useful life determination, depreciation, additions, disposals as well as provide monthly roll forward schedules.
Prepare and report departmental expenses including the recording of accrual/reclasses and oversight of prepaids.
Assist with audits, including the preparation of audit schedules and reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal filing requirements.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and propose enhancement of the existing monthly closing, accounts receivable, treasury and the payroll process life cycles.
Verify and maintain support all banking information for all vendors paid via Wire/ACH.
Processing of all state income tax payments via various websites.
Assist and back up for general accounting functions including Accounts Receivable, Inventory, Accounts Payable, Treasury functions.
Assist with accounting responsibility associated with other accounting entities.
