Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join its collaborative team in Parsippany, NJ. This individual will serve a key function in providing accounting services including preparation of financial reports, account analyses, preparation of journal entries and monthly financial statement compilation and review. In this role, you will have the opportunity to impact special accounting projects that support firm leadership and drive operational success.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions;

  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information;

  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies;

  • Maintains general ledger by transferring & analyzing accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries;

  • Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other documents;

  • Assist accounting manager with ASC 842 lease accounting entries, analyses with lease renewals, amendments and tracker;

  • Experience with preparing financial statements (e.g. cash flow statement and balance sheet) with supporting worksheets;

  • Maintaining inputs in company’s financial reporting tool (e.g. Onestream);

  • Establish a working relationship with Real Estate corporate management;

  • Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors;

  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential; and

  • Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance;

  • 4+ years’ experience in accounting;

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred, but not required;

  • High proficiency basic understanding of accounting software and MS Excel;

  • Proficient in accrual accounting when applying recognition of incurred costs;

  • Demonstrates strong technical accounting skill;

  • Minimal experience in SAP (S/4 Hana) ERP system;

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; and

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
