As the Material Handler I you are responsible for handling, storing, and distributing raw materials, components, and finished goods. This role ensures compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety regulations, and company procedures while supporting production operations and inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and store raw materials, components, and finished goods according to warehouse procedures

  • Pick, stage, and deliver materials to production areas based on manufacturing schedules.

  • Assist in shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accurate documentation and labeling.

  • Perform cycle counts and physical inventory checks to maintain accurate inventory records.

  • Report discrepancies, damaged materials, or shortages to warehouse supervisor or material handler lead.

  • Operate warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movements

  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (as trained and certified).

  • Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of equipment.

  • Adhere to GMP, FDA, and company SOPs for material handling and storage.

  • Maintain proper documentation for material transactions, ensuring data integrity.

  • Follow all safety procedures

  • Keep work areas clean and organized following 5S principles.

  • Assist with warehouse projects and process improvements as assigned

  • Communicate effectively with production, quality, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations.

Perform other assignments, as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • 1+ year of warehouse, logistics, or material handling experience in a regulated environment ((pharmaceutical, biotech, food, or medical device industry preferred).

  • Experience operating a forklift is required. Forklift Certification preferred or willing to obtain certification.

  • SAP or Oracle experience preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management.

  • Ability to follow written procedures and maintain accurate records.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Hazmat Certification preferred

  • Ability to work overtime, weekend, or shift work as needed to support production demands.

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), operate material handling equipment, and work in varying environmental conditions.

  • Stand, walk for periods of time.

Role will be onsite in Parsippany, NJ.

Our Compensation and Benefits

At Ferring, base salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is $36,000 to $70,000, which is the reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount paid may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, education and primary work location. [If applicable] If hired to work 2nd in this role, the pay differential will be 10%. [If applicable] If hired to work 3rd shift in this role, the pay differential will be 20%. [For non-sales employees] Additional compensation for this role will be provided based on competitive annual incentive compensation targets in the form of an annual bonus - payouts are based on individual and company performance. [For sales employees] Additional compensation for this role will be provided based on competitive annual incentive compensation targets in the form of sales commissions - payouts are based on individual and geography/company performance.

Benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with a premium differential, inverse to base salary, to be paid by employees, a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, wellness benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full time employees to accrue up to 120 hours in the first four (4) years of employment, and 160 hours in the fifth (5th) year of employment as well as 15 paid holidays per year.
