Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, you will be an integral part of a team dedicated to ensuring the maximum utilization and efficiency of equipment. Your role will involve developing and implementing manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality. Responsibilities include performing emergency repairs on various machinery, fabricating and repairing parts, installing and assembling new machines and equipment, and performing routine maintenance. You will also follow procedures and work instructions, perform building and facility maintenance, troubleshoot basic electrical issues, oversee maintenance schedules and staff, maintain records, and mentor/train other technicians while managing the maintenance shop and spare part inventory.

Hard Skills

  • Emergency repairs on mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and robotic systems

  • Fabrication and repair using welding and machine shop tools

  • Routine preventative and predictive maintenance

  • Installation and assembly of machines and equipment

  • Basic electrical troubleshooting and installation

  • Use of CMMS for record-keeping

  • Machine shop tool usage for part fabrication

Soft Skills

  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and work instructions

  • Effective organization of schedules and work orders

  • Leadership and training of maintenance technicians

  • Strong record-keeping practices

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in South Plainfield, New Jersey.

Work Environment

This role is hands-on and requires being on the floor 100% of the time, wearing a safety vest, safety glasses, and earplugs. The position does not offer work from home but provides flexibility in scheduling, with standard hours from 7 AM to 4 PM. Occasional Saturdays may be required to address equipment issues.
