Job Summary:

You will coordinate client and insurance billings and ensure program goals and objectives are accomplished by fulfilling job and team responsibilities as assigned.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist the supervisor with the daily operation of the department.

  • Contact clients regarding outstanding balances.

  • Establish payment plans to help clients manage bill payments.

  • Send delinquent accounts to collection agencies.

  • Process insurance payments to client accounts in the computerized system.

  • Create and mail insurance claims and client statements.

  • Submit and re-submit bills to insurance companies or other third parties to secure client payment.

  • Verify all entries made by front desk staff and make necessary corrections.

  • Train appropriate personnel on the computerized billing system.

  • Respond to client billing and statement inquiries.

  • Make recommendations to management for write-offs.

  • Perform clerical functions, such as Xeroxing and filing.

What We Need to See:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 to 3 three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Knowledge of the NJMMIS (Medicaid) website

  • Knowledge of the CMS (Medicare) website

  • 2-3 yrs. experience working with all Medicare plans and all Medicaid plans

  • 2-3 yrs. experience working with all Private insurance plans

  • 2-3 yrs. insurance / billing experience
