12 Fulltime H-2A Seasonal Jobs Available 05/01/2024- 12/7/2024.
Attend to live bees to produce honey and maintain colony health through feed/supplements; Medicate bees; Find and raise queens, install queen cells; Make and check new hives, make splits; Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment, boxes, yards; Load bees/hives on trucks; Assemble bee hives, inserts honeycomb of bees into hives; Force bees from hives; Inform farm manager of bee, honey, crop progress; Direct and monitor the work of help during bee husbandry and honey work; Receive instructions from supervisor regarding work to be done for the day and ensure its completion; Lift 75 pound boxes for honey transport and moving bee boxes from hive to extracting facility; Submit daily work sheets for records to be submitted to the appropriate authority; Drive truck to move equipment or bees from one location to another; Uncap harvested honeycombs and extract honey from honeycombs; Drive farm vehicle to obtain supplies, honey extracting equipment, and misc. tools used to work with honey bees; Clean work area.
Requirements:
- 3 months experience with references required as a beekeeper
- Exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Lifting requirement of 75 lbs.
- Repetitive movements, extensive walking and extensive pushing/pulling.
- Post-hire drug screen, at employers expense.
- Driver requirements: Must be able to obtain appropriate non-CDL drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record
- May not have bee, pollen or honey-related allergies.
