Position : Optical Systems Assembly Technician
Hours: 40 hours/week, with overtime as needed, A-Shift

Job Summary
As an Optical Systems Assembly Technician, you'll work in a cleanroom environment assembling complex optical components based on detailed specifications. Using precision instruments and measurement tools, you’ll ensure all components meet rigorous tolerances and quality standards. You’ll also help document results and prepare parts for final inspection.
Through On-the-Job Training (OJT), you will learn to:
Assemble optical components into mechanical systems
Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
Inspect components for cosmetic and functional defects
Operate precision metrology equipment for testing and quality checks
Measure optical parameters such as focal length, wavefront transmission, and centration error
Maintain accurate records of test results and product compliance documentation
Ensure timely movement of parts between workstations to meet production schedules
Follow cleanroom protocols and gowning procedures
Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality
Perform other duties as needed to support the team
Qualifications
Education :
High School Diploma or GED required
Associate’s degree in a related field is preferred, but not required
Experience :
Previous experience in optics manufacturing or a similar technical field is helpful but not required
On-the-job training will be provided for those without prior experience in optics
Key Skills :
Strong team collaboration skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent work ethic and attention to detail
Ability to follow instructions, multitask, and prioritize effectively
Strong communication skills, able to work across departments
Capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Eagerness to learn new skills and techniques
Work Requirements
Physical Demands :
Compliance with cleanroom protocols, including refraining from smoking or vaping 30 minutes prior to entering the cleanroom
Ability to bend, reach, grip parts, and occasionally lift items
Work Environment :
Noise levels vary from quiet to moderately loud
Exposure to chemicals and solvents is possible
May require specific safety training for certain areas
