SUNY Oneonta Counselor (Multiple Positions) in Oneonta, New York

COME JOIN A GREAT TEAM!The Counseling Center is an important part of the Student Affairs mission of maintaining a supportive campus atmosphere, fostering personal and academic growth, supporting cultural diversity and eliminating barriers to academic goals. We have two exciting full-time, 11-month obligation Counselor positions available. These positions come with possible alternative work hours including some nights and weekends. The Counseling Center staff is composed of caring and dedicated professionals who take great pride in providing support and help to Oneonta students.As a Counselor in our nurturing community, you will:Provide psychological services to students including brief individual and group counseling, crisis intervention and referral to psychiatric and/or specialized mental health resources as needed.Develop and implement outreach programming to campus.Base Salary: $53,500Outstanding benefits: SUNY provides comprehensive employee benefit programs designed to help keep our faculty and staff and their families healthy, safe, happy, and productive. Counselor position duties include but not limited to: Position 1: An emphasis on serving as a mental health trainer, consultant, and educator to students, faculty, and staff.Position 2: An emphasis on serving as a liaison for BIPOC, LGBTQ, and/or First-Generation populations.Requirements:Required Qualifications Include: A Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or closely related field.A mental health licensure or license eligible in New York State.Two years' experience providing individual or group counseling.Position 2: Additionally requires demonstrated experience and/or expertise in working with BIPOC, LGBTQ, and/or First-Generation populations on issues of stress, and trauma.Preferred Qualifications: Licensed in New York State.Clinically experienced in providing short-term mental health treatment.Higher education experienceExperience facilitating group therapy.Experienced in developing and facilitating outreach programs.Experienced in working with and serving diverse populations.To learn more about the University and the Counseling Center, please refer to: https://suny.oneonta.edu/ and https://suny.oneonta.edu/counseling-center
