Responsibilities

This position will have lending authority to purchase credits in a timely, effective manner and will communicate credit decisions to dealers in a professional manner. This position is responsible for supporting the Business Development Officers with the development and activation of new dealer relationships as well as supporting the data entry and discounting units.

  • Has designated Indirect Lending authority based on experience and background
  • Works in unison with the BDO's to build and strengthen dealership relationships
  • Provides quality service to customers, whether internal or external
  • In conjunction with managements, recommends and develops new programs to new and existing dealerships
  • May make sales calls with BDOs on occasion throughout the year
  • Is responsible for providing a high level of customer service as follows:
    • Quote loan payoffs, contract figures and dealer reserve information to dealers over the telephone
    • Obtain missing information on credit applications in processing
    • Handle dealership/customer issues and complaints for indirect portfolio
  • May investigate and support the BDO to resolve dealer inadequacies in an effort to protect the Bank's assets
  • Actively cross-sell other bank loan and deposit products
  • Actively support and participate in the sales culture of the department by taking a pro-active approach with telephoning dealerships to solicit business
  • Comply with established operating policies and procedures in order to maintain adequate controls and to support the Bank's adherence to outside regulatory agencies
  • Other duties as assigned or directed
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all job-specific training requirements in a timely fashion

Qualifications

Education, Training and Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associates Degree, B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field of study strongly preferred
  • History of specialized training in sales and/or marketing
  • Valid drivers' license

Skills:

  • Strong sales and interpersonal skills
  • Thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank indirect loan products and services
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills
  • Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills
  • General knowledge of current lending regulations
  • Moderate computer skills
  • Working knowledge of bank operating services
  • Must be able to consistently demonstrate the Company's core values: a strong work ethic, integrity, respect for others, responsibility, transparency and humility

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a related lending or dealer services field normally required.

Other Job Information

Hours: 40 hours/week; Monday-Friday rotating Saturdays and overtime as needed

Compensation: Commensurate with experience plus potential for annual merit increase.
