DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

  • In this position, you will be responsible for determining the appropriate methods to calculate property values of residential land and properties with one-to-four dwelling units for right-of-way acquisition necessary for highway improvements. It is crucial to ensure that appraisals accurately reflect fair market value, provide just compensation for damages, and are completed promptly to align with letting schedules. Any hidden issues or missing items not indicated on the plan should be identified and reported to the supervisor for minor plan adjustments. If a claimant is involved, the Right-of-Way office program should be utilized, or a more formal response should be prepared for issues that may impact deadlines. The completed work will be reviewed by the supervisor to confirm compliance with state and federal appraisal regulations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS: Special Requirements:

  • All positions require possession of an active Pennsylvania Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser certification.
  • All positions require possession of an active motor vehicle license.
  • This position must obtain an active Pennsylvania Certified General Real Estate Appraiser certification within 2 years of employment.
