About the Team:

Responsible for the relationship management of client accounts and daily activities. Ensure that Medidata delivers quality projects and services on time and within budget through effective management of Medidata resources.

At the director level, you will perform proactively, leading complex projects. The role includes fostering customer relationships through participation in client governance structures. This can involve being the primary escalation point in which resolution of complex issues is necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify new business opportunities within assigned accounts
  • Participate in program governance, and manage the professional services relationship
  • Identify process improvements and lead strategy
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to achieve project goals
  • Lead large projects and clients, which may include a program of projects
  • Lead project delivery to ensure that all deliverables are tracked and that documentation is current
  • Manage client expectations and communications, and ensure overall client satisfaction
  • Manage project scope and financials including forecasting, project budget, and accuracy of invoicing
  • Create accurate and current project documentation
  • Raise and track work requests to other departments
  • Document minutes/action items during client and internal meetings; conduct appropriate follow-up
  • Manage issues driving appropriate resolution and mitigation
  • Provide experience establishing communication and engagement with prospects to all partners
  • Assure compliance with Medidata's standard project management methodologies, quality management system
  • Support development of sales orders and change orders
  • Deliver workshops and lead client meetings
  • Train new and junior team members

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate experience in an advisory capacity
  • Anticipate and mitigate complex issue and risks thus minimizing escalations
  • Mentor other team members and serve as a team leader
  • Ability to identify and suggest improvements which increase the value proposition for Medidata and the client
  • Knowledge of Medidata (or similar) products determined by requirements of the role
  • Have a understanding of clinical research (pharma/device/biotech) and of clinical research SaaS technology
  • Demonstrate verbal/written and experience establishing communication and engagement with prospects
  • Experience balancing multiple sales opportunities along with working in a team environment
  • Experience in leading project teams and meeting project timelines
  • Self-motivated and able to assume responsibility
  • Demonstrate strong computer skills
  • Experience with the MS Office suite and other current software technologies
  • Experience creating and delivering presentations
  • year college degree or equivalent (analytic discipline a plus) preferred
  • 8 years experience in clinical/biomedical or software development environment
  • Travel expectations up to 20%, domestic & international
  • Medidata follows a hybrid office policy in which employees who are hired for an in-person role are expected to work on site a certain number of days per week (with the specific in-office days to be designated by your team.) On July 8, 2024, such employees will be expected to work on site at least 2 days per week. This will increase to at least 3 days per week beginning January 2, 2025.

As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on many factors including function, level, candidate expertise, and geographic location.

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the NYC Metro Area is $114,750-157,962.

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the California Bay Area is $121,500-162,000.

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the Boston Metro Area is $113,250-151,000.

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in Texas or Ohio is $101,250-135,000.

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in all other locations within the United States is $102,750-147,021.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
