The Department of Human Services, Norristown State Hospital, is looking for a Quality Assurance/Risk Management (QA/RM) Coordinator to supervise an investigative team of specialists. The QA/RM Coordinator takes positive action involving interdisciplinary staff at all levels to ensure that any issues with a potential for adverse impact upon the hospital, patients, or staff, are appropriately addressed.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK The Quality Assurance Risk Management Coordinator serves in an administrative capacity within the Performance Improvement Division under the direct supervision of the Chief Performance Improvement Executive (CPIE). This is a highly responsible position charged with the management and coordination of the facility's comprehensive risk management, patient abuse and patient rights complaints programs.

Chief responsibilities include the direction, coordination, monitoring, analysis, and implementation of this 400-bed facility's system of risk management and the state-wide incident reporting system. You direct, manage, evaluate, develop, and implement plans and procedures to minimize risk throughout the hospital in clinical and non-clinical areas. You also are responsible for applying information from risk management activities to the hospital's QA and performance improvement activities to meet the hospital's objective for providing a safe environment for patients and staff.

Additional duties include coordinating the facility's patient abuse investigative processes and coordinating the facility's interdisciplinary root cause analysis and failure mode. You also monitor and facilitate the completion of identified corrective actions through collaboration with appropriate clinical and non-clinical department managers. In addition, you assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of the corrective actions, and report to the executive staff all completed actions and results of ongoing monitoring of effectiveness.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with 30-minute lunch. May change based on operational needs. Please check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as a Quality Assurance/Risk Management Specialist; or Three years of professional experience as a member of a multiple disciplinary treatment team in a public or private health care facility and a bachelor's degree; or Three years of clinical experience in a human services agency, including two years of administrative, evaluative, consultative or supervisory work in a health care program; and a bachelor's degree with major course work in social work, nursing, health care administration, behavioral sciences or a related field; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
