The Arc Wayne Teacher Aide in Newark, New York

At The Arc Wayne in Newark, NY we are looking for a full-time Teacher Aide for our Roosevelt Children's Center to aide in facilitating special education programs in areas of cognition, gross motor fine motor, self-help, social/emotional and behavior management skills.

A Day In The Life As A Teacher's Aide

  • Participate in daily planning with the classroom team by contributing ideas and suggestions for activities

  • Actively engage with students on a consistent basis

  • Responsible for assuring the personal safety of children in all settings throughout the day

  • Aides the classroom teacher with daily activities like gym, speech, filed trips, outdoor events and physical or occupational therapy

  • Maintains good rapport with parent(s)/guardian(s)

  • Aides in facilitating classroom activities and the established daily routine

  • Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/GED

  • Some lifting required

    Hours: Part Time, Monday through Friday (7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
