About us:

Munich Airport NJ LLC, a 100% subsidiary of Munich Airport US Holding LLC, is responsible for terminal operations, facility maintenance and the management of the commercial program at the new Terminal A at EWR. The new Terminal A at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is a modern, state-of-the art terminal which opened to commercial passenger traffic on Jan 12, 2023. The Terminal has a design capacity of approx. 14 million annual passengers and 33 common-use gates, providing generous space for a smooth journey through the building, from curbside to for check-in, security, gate holdrooms and baggage claim. The retail and food and beverage features local, national and international brands. The Procurement Specialist will contribute to sourcing activities, supplier evaluations, and contract management within the procurement process, all while ensuring compliance with corporate governance and ethical standards. This role will assist with the development of a contract quality assurance framework to enhance compliance and overall performance.

The Procurement Specialist will collaborate with teams in Germany to facilitate solutions and streamline procurement processes while forging strong partnerships with internal teams, ensuring a deep understanding of their procurement needs and working closely with the finance group for seamless invoice processing, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of end-to-end procurement strategies, leveraging 1-2 years of experience.

  • Assist in sourcing activities, evaluating suppliers, and supporting contract management within the procurement process.

  • Analyze market trends, monitor supplier performance, and provide insights into potential opportunities and risks.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to understand and address their procurement needs effectively.

  • Ensure strict adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards throughout the procurement process.

  • Develop and implement a contract quality assurance framework to ensure compliance and optimal performance.

  • Collaborate with international teams, particularly in Germany, to facilitate solutions and streamline procurement processes.

  • Work closely with the finance group for seamless invoice processing, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.

  • Conduct cost analyses and contribute to initiatives aimed at cost reduction and process improvement within the procurement framework.

  • Manage aspects of the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to delivery, including contract administration.

  • Stay informed about industry best practices and actively propose ideas for process enhancement within the procurement lifecycle.

  • Utilize procurement software and tools independently, with guidance as needed.

  • Contribute to the preparation and presentation of reports on procurement performance and key metrics.

     

    Qualifications:

      Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • 2-4 years of experience in a procurement or related role, with exposure to procurement practices.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Solid understanding of procurement concepts, principles, and contract administration.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Familiarity with SAP Business By Design a plus

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to drive deliverables to completion independently, given guidance and parameters.

  • Eagerness to pursue continuous professional development
