The Prudential Insurance Company of America Lead Data Scientist in Newark, New Jersey

Lead Data Scientist (The Prudential Insurance Company of America, Newark, NJ): Design and develop advanced statistical and analytics methods for prediction and optimization including a wide variety of machine learning technologies (logit, regression, decision trees/forests, boosted models, clustering, etc.) for purposes including explorative analysis, survival analysis, segmentation, prediction and recommendation systems. Identify, source, transform and join public, proprietary and internal data sources. Model large structured and unstructured data sources (e.g., financial transactional, time-series, text, speech/audio and image). Perform analysis and implement software solutions that maximize business impact. Oversee the creation, implementation, and delivery of an end-to-end technical solution for a data science project by guiding technical staff. Prepare and present written and verbal reports to key stakeholders. Develop and maintain consultative relationships with key business stakeholder. Translate business data and problem statements to suitable methods and evaluate the fit. Provide timely guidance to junior staff in applying theory to practice on a day-to-day basis in business context, anticipate roadblocks, and represent the technical side of the project at all meetings. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations, and demonstrated technical leadership in makes decisions.Telecommuting permitted up to 1 day a week.Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Econometrics, Physics, Computer Science, Actuarial, Data Science, or a related quantitative field, and 1 year of related work experience in developing advanced quantitative, analytical, and statistical solutions.Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience in each of the following: • Applying statistical machine learning techniques and Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques: logit, regression, random forests, boosted machines, clustering, large scale language models including deep learning, and convolution neural networks;• Spanning analysis of real-world problems involving structured and unstructured data;• Utilizing tools and programming languages for statistical modeling of large data sets: SQL, AWS SageMaker, or Python; • Applying the principles of Mutithreading, data structures and algorithms; and • Software engineering experience in Java, Python, or Scala languages; • Presenting present complex statistical concepts to non-analytical stakeholders while utilizing Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to articulate business value; and• Following and advocating for data science project lifecycle while developing models to solve business cases.Telecommuting permitted up to 1 day a week.To Apply: Apply online at https://bit.ly/3KDxv7V.
