Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Coordinator Grant Development and Communications for NJMS- Office of Primary Care and Community Initiatives/ ODACE/HCOE. Under the direct supervision of the Associate Dean of Primary Care, Diversity, and Community Engagement and the Executive Vice Dean, this position supports the development of community-based health services research and educational programs focused on expanding health services research opportunities in community engagement, and primary care. The Project Administrator will be responsible for actively seeking grant opportunities, supporting the research activities of the office through data analysis and program evaluation and outcomes measures, supporting and guiding student research and the students community services activities, independently analyzing and interpreting data that supports future grant funding opportunities, and assisting the associate dean with communication strategies that include annual reports, social media dissemination, national and international presentations, and expansion of the community engaged service learning endeavors throughout the Newark Greater Area.Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Collaborates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Office of Primary Care, Diversity, and Community Engagement, and the Hispanic Center of Excellence.
  • Responsible for actively seeking grant opportunities for health services research, community engagement research, educational research, and expansion of primary care leading to new programs and activities across New Jersey Medical School.
  • Responsible for the grant writing process for the submission of proposals and grant applications, collects data based on preestablished timelines.
  • Acts as the principal liaison to the Associate Dean of Primary Care, Diversity, and Community Engagement, and the Executive Vice Dean.
  • Writes proposals, develops budgets, prepares applications and other appropriate documents, proofreads and edits documents and processes proposals. Responsible for writing responses to reviews and critiques from funding agencies.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor Degree plus five years of progressively responsible administrative experience in an academic/research environment involving the use of statistical databases.

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and knowledge of peer- review publication process is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, statistical software and grant writing is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • (PhD or Master's preferred)
