PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION :

As a Shift Leader at Pura Vida Miami, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant. You will support the General Manager in leading the team, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing a positive dining experience for all customers and our team members.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Set a positive example and have clear communication with the entire team.

  • Provide an exceptional customer service experience to all customers.

  • Discover and respond to customer needs, including any concerns.

  • Motivate and direct team members to exceed customer expectations with fast and friendly service in clean surroundings.

  • Ensures compliance with all food safety laws and sanitation regulations.

  • Assist General Manager and Assistant General Manager with enforcing and maintaining all procedures and policies of Pura Vida Miami at the store level.

  • Responsible for covering all shifts and supporting stations.

  • Able and willing to close the restaurant as needed, by following all closing procedures.

  • Responsible for organizing, scheduling and supervising shifts of team members.

  • Monitoring attendance, tardiness and time off requests.

  • Assigning duties to specific employees based on role and skills.

  • Supervising employees and assisting with tasks as necessary.

  • Conducting performance reviews and sharing feedback with both upper management and team members.

  • Training new and current team members on best practices.

  • Follow all policies and procedures for health and food safety, ensuring an inviting environment for both guests and team members.

  • Collaborate with your manager and team members to maintain smooth operations and a positive work atmosphere.

  • Support with any additional duties assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in the hospitality and/or food service industry (e.g. restaurant, hotel, etc.)

  • Proven experience in guest services management experience in a hospitality environment.

  • High School Diploma or GED required; 2 years of college preferred.

  • Must meet local/municipal requirements, such as obtaining a Food Handler certification, at the applicant’s expense.

  • Passionate about providing excellent customer service.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.

  • May stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Proficient in reading and writing in English.
