Description
AWS Proactive security is looking for an exceptional Technical Program Manager to join a team of Applied Scientists and Engineers that build innovative solutions to improve security automation operating at AWS scale that helps to raise the security bar for our services. The team is driving multiple initiatives using GenAI, Symbolic AI and other technologies to improve security automation at scale.
In this role, you'll develop AI-powered solutions that automatically remediate security issues across massive cloud environments, create AI tools that can identify risks traditional technologies might miss. Your work will also involve driving the adoption of secure frameworks and APIs that make it easier and safer for builders to deliver products for our customers.
A successful candidate will demonstrate proven program management skills with experience understanding customer needs, building project plans and launching improvements that deliver value. The candidate will be comfortable managing complex cross-organization initiatives, resolving risks due to competing priorities, resourcing and technical challenges, and communicate program status and plan to leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong data analytical skills and have experience delivering services for use by software developers. Exemplary written and verbal communication skills are important, as the candidate will frequently work with leadership and colleagues that cross organizational boundaries.
Key job responsibilities
Own business outcomes for key initiatives in security automation and builder efficiency
Lead efforts to drive the adoption of Secure APIs across AWS
Drive investigations into issues related to Builder efficiency and identify opportunities for improvement
Drive the adoption of automated code fixes for various security issues.
Resolve ambiguities and align team plans to minimize technical risk and maximize odds of project success.
Communicate progress using metrics that demonstrate business impact

As a Technical Program Manager in Proactive Security, you'll drive critical security initiatives by crafting strategic documents that communicate complex technical insights to leadership. Your day involves driving consensus across teams, navigating competing priorities, and aligning diverse groups toward unified security goals. You'll engage deeply with builders and security engineers, shaping the future of security automation through collaborative discussions. Business reviews will be a key responsibility, where you'll synthesize the team's progress and future strategies into clear, impactful documents.

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of technical product or program management experience
Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
Experience working directly with engineering teams
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field; or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with any combination of the following: API security or implementation, mobile security, threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security
Experience with multiple programming languages is a definite plus (such as, Java, Python, Kotlin, etc.)
Experience implementing and/or driving security solutions at the business level
Experience managing stakeholders at the VP level and excellent written and verbal communication skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
