How will you make an impact in this role?
Digital acquisition is one of Amex’s top priorities. Core to delivering on this priority are Commercial application and onboarding experiences that enable prospects and customers to apply for our commercial products with the least amount of effort, wherever and however they choose to apply. In addition to an enormous emphasis on users and usability, our team is responsible for growing new accounts acquired, billed business acquired, and accounts receivable by increasing application completion, conversion optimization, and flawlessly onboarding our approved customers.
We are looking for a passionate, talented, and adaptable Senior Manager of Product Operations, Planning, and Controls who will bring rigor to the ideation, planning, and delivery process for the American Express US Commercial Application Experiences team. In this role, you will lead, develop and champion processes that will transform the way we manage product development and enhancements. Key to the success of this role is managing a tight program that increases our efficiency as we groom features to get them ready for development. You will also lead and coordinate the team’s risk and control response to proactive and reactive findings. Lastly, you will step in to project-manage large scale initiatives and create the proper documentation and forums that will keep stakeholders and impacted teams informed of progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and improve the ideation, intake, and prioritization processes for US Commercial Application Experiences
Drive collaboration, communication, and delivery among Product Managers, Engineers, Business Leads, Architects and the leadership team
Improve efficiency of planning and delivery by contributing to process and working practice improvements
Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholder teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing, Credit & Fraud Risk, Analytics, among others) to maintain up-to-date product roadmaps
Monitor software development lifecycle (SDLC) tools like Rally, Confluence, Clarity, and Airtable, and ensure tickets are up to date
Extract, merge, and transform epic and feature tickets from different software development lifecycle (SDLC) tools and synthesize them into roadmaps and timelines for leadership team
Bring together teams to drive the timely remediation of Operational Risk Events (OREs) and Data Quality Issues
Strategize improvements to processes involving Process Risk Self-Assessment (PRSA), Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and general Control Management
Analyze trends in issues and events to identify potential systemic risks or control weaknesses
Ensure peer and leadership buy-in of common processes and metrics
Create. present, and socialize presentations to peers and senior leaders that summarize the status, risks, mitigation plans and timeline views of major initiatives
Own product initiatives, as needed
Draft product requirements documentation (PRDs) for initiatives owned
Draft Process Risk Self-Assessment (PRSA), Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), and other controls, as needed
Assist the leadership team with special projects, as needed
What we are looking for:
Product Management experience in an Agile environment, working directly with scrum teams
Ability to drive clarity and outcomes in a highly matrixed organization with sometimes unclear roles and responsibilities
Hands-on fluency and speed with ticketing tools like Rally, Clarity, Airtable, and Jira
Highly organized and detail-oriented with a proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and solve complex problems
Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Able to simplify complex ideas, navigate cross-functional teams and build relationships, influence decisions, and deliver on shared objectives
Mastery in deck-writing, story-telling and managing projects
Demonstrated ability to analyze data and processes to identify creative solutions and drive incremental improvement
A good balance of technical knowledge and business acumen
Driven, curious and diligent problem solver with a willingness to learn, challenge the status quo and collaborate to make an impact
Experience in leading corrective actions and operational risk events, financial remediation, implementing long term fix and control enhancements (such as Process Risk Self-Assessment or Risk & Control Self-Assessment)
Experience working in a regulated environment with an understanding of compliance, control, data governance and integrity processes is a plus
Experience with data analytics (SQL a plus)
Qualifications
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
