Alvarez & Marsal Tax, LLC Senior Financial Analyst, Tax in New York, New York

Description

The Senior Financial Analyst in the Alvarez & Marsal Tax group will assist with the financial planning and reporting function for the global tax practice. This individual will report to Alvarez & Marsal Tax's Director of Financial Operations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Analyze and provide interpretation of financial results and key financial and operational metrics across multiple countries.
  • Review, analyze and report overhead spend vs budget and prior year on a monthly basis.
  • Assist finance team in preparing annual budget and mid-year forecasts.
  • Support finance team in annual year-end compensation process.
  • Provide insight and analysis to MDs and project teams regarding project profitability, special projects and other ad hoc reporting needs
  • Play a key role in the design and implementation of new initiatives and special projects; demonstrate the ability to work on multiple projects and priorities.
  • Communicate and educate finance policies, procedures, and processes to A& M Tax professionals globally.
  • Find ways to continuously improve the processes, tools and activities that support the practice and our people. Liaise with Corporate Finance and other business units as needed


Requirements
  • 2-4 years of financial analysis experience in a professional services or similar environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree with concentration in Business or Accounting.
  • Creative problem solver with demonstrated quantitative and analytic skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently with little direction from management.
  • Ability to communicate (written and verbal) across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills utilized within a team environment.
  • Flexible to respond quickly and positively to changing demands.
  • Strong work ethic and close attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines, balance and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications including PowerPoint, and Outlook with advanced knowledge in Excel.
  • Knowledge of advanced analytical and visualization tools such as Power BI or Alteryx preferred.


The salary range is $80, 000 - $90, 000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A& M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
