Description
Join a dynamic team at Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Sr. Event Manager, where you'll drive complex marketing initiatives that shape customer experiences and deliver measurable business outcomes. In this role, you'll be at the intersection of strategic planning and operational excellence, developing and executing event-based marketing programs that support AWS's broader business objectives.
We are seeking an experienced event marketing professional who can own the full lifecycle of complex, high visibility events, from strategy definition to execution and measurement. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence executive stakeholders, and drive strategic business outcomes through data-driven decision making. You will also lead strategy for how AWS Training and Certification is represented at AWS re:Invent.
As a Sr. Event Manager, you will develop and oversee strategies that align with organizational goals, manage substantial program budgets, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact results. You'll be responsible for defining business problems and marketing objectives while ensuring alignment with overall business strategy.
Key job responsibilities
Define and execute marketing event strategies that support business objectives and drive measurable outcomes
Lead cross-functional teams and build strategic relationships across various stakeholders
Influence executive leadership (VP-level) through strategy narratives, presentations, and regular reporting
Develop and manage program budgets, optimizing for financial efficiency
Create and implement measurement frameworks to track program success and ROI
Drive operational efficiency through process improvements and technology adoption
Identify and mitigate risks while building contingency plans

Basic Qualifications
6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
6+ years of event management experience or channel programs experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners
MBA

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
