Advancy Inc Senior Data Analyst in New York, New York

Senior Data Analyst. Advancy Inc (Manhattan, NY)Collect and extract primary data from multiple data sources including web pages, SQL server database, industry statistics, public information, and industry reports associated with international education and U.S. education by using different data technologies and programming languages such as MySQL and Python. Apply data science and statistical methods to aggregate, clean, validate, and test large sets of structured and unstructured data gathered from disparate sources by using data tools such as Excel, R, and Tableau to ensure validity, applicability, accuracy, completeness, and uniformity. Conduct comprehensive and quantitative research on data gathered by using a variety of statistical and database tools such as Excel, Tableau, and R to analyze marketing condition of U.S. education, assess the effectiveness and acceptability of programs and services provided by the company including education consulting, college counseling, visiting scholar programs, study tours, summer camps, adult education, language training, and EMBA programs, and provide recommendations about company's marketing & sales strategies and pricing strategies. Perform data analysis and build predictive models to identify and analyze industry and geographic trends. Apply data analytical methods (regression models include linear regression and logistic regression, duster analysis, Monte Carlo simulation, time series analysis, etc.) to evaluate and benchmark company's business performance: Monitor industry statistics and follow trends in the industry and periodically report to management for timely revising or amending operational and marketing policies. Conduct key driver analysis between customer satisfaction and other operational metrics such as return on advertising spend, customer acquisition cost, and marketing originated customer percentage. Analyze customers' feedback and identify the new characteristics requirements for academic programs and consulting services, including contents, quality, performance, effectiveness, etc., to support the upgrade of current academic programs and consulting services and the development of new programs and services, and improve customer services. Analyze data on customer demographics, preferences, needs, and purchasing trends to identify potential new markets, customers, and factors affecting the demand. Analyze data of competitors including pricing, programs, services provided, sales revenue, and method of marketing to investigate the market demand, market size, market trends and the strength of competition of the company's programs and services in the U.S. education market and identify the potential business opportunities and risks. Perform a variety of cost and benefit analyses to estimate the effectiveness of the company’s marketing campaigns and business development projects to determine which campaign or project will offer the best outcomes. Evaluate any possible business strategies and tactics, based on knowledge of the company’s operational goals, business characteristics, and cost and the different policies of agencies and government as well as laws and regulations to mitigate the risks. Use data visualization tools such as Excel and Tableau to turn data and analysis results into critical information and knowledge, and understandable charts. Generate reports to summarize data analysis results and identify opportunities & problems to support management's decision-making and gain a competitive advantage in the fast-moving education industry. Oversee 5-6 junior consultants and consultants as needed on any given project.Requires: Master’s degree in Quantitative Management, Business Analytics with relevant coursework that must have included Applied Probability and Statistics, Data Infrastructure, Data Science for Business, Decision Analytics and Modeling, Data Visualization and Business Communication. 6 months of experience in a relevant occupation involving data research and analyses.
