About the Team

Our Incentive Marketing Strategy team is a newly formed group within Retail Bank Marketing focused on driving innovation and excellence in incentive marketing (promotional offers to drive customer acquisition and engagement such as cash bonuses). We work across product, marketing and analytics teams to ensure our incentive calendar and strategies align with business objectives, meet customer needs and accelerate growth. This team will be the glue that brings together many teams to deliver on an integrated vision, which makes cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking and project execution critical to success.

About the Role

We are looking for a Project Manager to oversee and manage our bank incentives program across product and marketing teams. This role is essential to ensuring incentives are launched and executed effectively, while maintaining the right level of visibility into interdependencies, key milestones and program performance.

This Senior Associate Project Manager will be responsible for building cross-functional project plans, managing collaboration forums and ensuring clear communication across stakeholders. They will track program progress, facilitate problem-solving discussions and drive execution against the annual incentive calendar. This role will oversee the project management of strategic initiatives, in addition to incentive marketing technology capability enablement and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Incentive Program Oversight & Optimization:

    • Create a program structure and visibility such that leadership and stakeholders can clearly track our goals, progress against key milestones and program performance

    • Manage the joint incentive product and marketing calendar, tracking strategic and incentive marketing technology product development deliverables, cross-incentive risks and dependencies

    • Continuously assess program effectiveness, identify areas for process improvements and recommend optimizations

  • Project Execution & Management:

    • Develop and maintain cross-functional project plans to align product, marketing and analytic teams on incentive initiatives

    • Track deliverables, timeline risks and dependencies to ensure alignment with strategic objectives

  • Routine Management & Collaboration:

    • Lead and facilitate key routines, including stand-ups, planning sessions, retrospectives, and cross-functional working sessions

    • Partner closely with marketing, product, analytics and operations teams to drive alignment and accountability

    • Ensure stakeholders have clear roles, responsibilities and timelines for deliverables & follow up to ensure tasks are completed on time

Our Ideal Candidate has:

  • Strong understanding of marketing campaign and product execution, including timelines, dependencies and cross-team collaboration

  • Experience facilitating routines such as stand-ups, planning meetings, retrospectives in an agile environment

  • Exceptional organizational, problem solving and communication skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or Military experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in Program Management, Project Management, or Marketing operations in a matrixed environment

  • At least 3 years of Agile delivery experience utilizing Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree or MBA

  • 4+ years of experience in Program Management, Project Management, Marketing operations in a matrixed environment

  • Experience working in financial services, fintech or incentive-based marketing programs

  • PMP or Agile certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $94,600 - $107,900 for Sr. Project Manager


New York, NY: $103,200 - $117,800 for Sr. Project Manager


Richmond, VA: $86,000 - $98,200 for Sr. Project Manager


Wilmington, DE: $86,000 - $98,200 for Sr. Project Manager








Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
