Science Teacher, Middle School

The Nightingale-Bamford School seeks an experienced and innovative teacher to join our Science Department to teach in the middle school on a full-time basis for the academic year 2024-2025

This position will focus on teaching middle school science, particularly to grades V-VIII. This individual will collaborate with departmental colleagues to support the K-XII spiraling science program and work on curriculum development as needed. In addition, attending faculty meetings and supporting the larger school community in various ways is required.

This role reports directly to the head of the science department and the heads of the lower and upper middle schools and is a full-time, exempt position that starts on August 21, 2024.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in education or science.

  • At least three years or more of middle school teaching experience

  • Understanding or growing knowledge of competency-based teaching and learning

  • Excellent classroom management skills

    SALARY RANGE:

    In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $110,000. Nightingale considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
