Google Product Operations Lead, Google Play in New York, New York

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience in management consulting, product management and strategy, or analytics in a technology company.

  • Experience working with and analyzing data, and managing multiple projects.

  • Experience in operations managing sensitive workflows in a policy, regulatory compliance, or in a trust and safety environment.

  • Experience in working with business stakeholders, requirements analysis, and proposing solutions.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience working with Product and Engineering teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

In this role, you will provide business critical insights and frameworks that drive platform/feature development and success. You will ensure cross-functional alignment of goals and execution, and help the team drive strategic partnerships and new initiatives forward. You will focus on aligning the highest-level company priorities and operations, and help evolve early stage ideas into future growth initiatives.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$207,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Collaborate closely across product, engineering, data science, and cross-functional teams to deliver on key priorities for Play's business generation fraud and abuse mitigation efforts.

  • Design and execute processes related to product and engineering investments.

  • Set up and lead programs, including reviewing products and features, next-generation monitoring approaches, and incident management capabilities.

  • Identify key areas for the team to invest in process, tooling, automation or new approaches, and incubate these approaches.

  • Support communication to help operate as a team and quantify impact across programs. Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas of inefficiency and scope out new solutions.
