The College Board Product Manager, Digital Testing in New York, New York

College Board - AP&I100% Remote, working core EST hours (anticipated travel 5-6 times per year, usually 1-2 days at a time)About the TeamThe Digital Transformation team is committed to making higher education accessible to every student. As part of the larger AP and Instruction Department, we are a strong and collaborative team of 30+ product owners, product managers, content experts, and product development professionals responsible for managing a portfolio of digital assessment and instructional products and leading the work to transition paper assessment programs to the College Board's digital assessment platform. We collaborate closely with colleagues in technology, user experience, operations, assessment design and development, psychometrics and program management to design and develop digital solutions that meet the needs of our users.About the OpportunityAs the Product Manager for Digital Testing, you are a motivated and proactive leader with a passion for managing details, solving complex problems and driving meaningful outcomes. You'll leverage your strong background in product management and your knowledge of educational technology to create a compelling vision and maintain a strategic roadmap for the Digital SAT Suite of Assessments based on market trends, customer needs, and organizational priorities. You are eager to solicit and analyze feedback from our diverse set of stakeholders, including state and district partners, schools, students and internal College Board teams such as customer service and research, turning insights into impactful actions. You constantly seek useful information that can shape our products for the good of the user; and build strong, productive relationships while guiding your teams and stakeholders to produce tremendous value for our customers. In the face of complexity, you lean in with initiative, demonstrating leadership and influence to align teams and deliver results that matter. In this role, you will:Product Vision, Roadmap, & Strategy (40%)Develop and communicate the product vision and roadmap to internal teams and external stakeholders, including state and district customers; continuously refine the roadmap as customer needs, market dynamics and internal priorities evolveAlign product strategy with program goals, while deeply understanding customer needs and validating solutions through data and feedbackPartner with stakeholders to identify and act on opportunities that reduce operational complexity and riskEstablish and maintain a deep understanding of the market including the competitive landscape, emerging trends, customer needs and market requirementsReview market data and user feedback consistently to shape the product roadmap and improve user experienceLead new product and feature development by developing compelling business cases and rationale for new product investmentsEnsure customer and business requirements are understood and incorporated into design of new featuresLead cross-functional teams to deliver new product offerings into the marketCollaborate with teams across the organization to develop a go-to-market strategy and launch planDeliver Roadmap Priorities (30%)Understand and deliver the highest priority features on the digital testing product roadmap that are aligned to the product vision and organizational prioritiesProactively define and communicate Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the product that drive action focused on outcomes (vs. outputs)Understand, prioritize, and manage the flow of initiatives and features and participate in planning activitiesCollaborate with product owners to define release plans and gain a shared understanding of priorities and backlog items within development teamsProvide feedback to product owners during demonstrations of product designs, completed work and testingCollaboration & Stakeholder Relationships (30%)Collaborate with product owners and cross-functional teams to develop and update high-quality training resources, support documentation, manuals, marketing content, and responses to state RFPs for new product featuresCommunicate timely product updates to internal and external stakeholders, including district and state partnersRepresent College Board's digital testing platform as a subject matter expert in state and district customer meetingsWork cross-functionally to identify and implement enhancements to product implementation processes, program policies, and operational support modelsAbout YouYou have:5+ years of experience in Product Management, with recent and substantial experience in educational technologyExperience in K-12 digital assessment delivery is a strong plusA proactive, ownership-driven mindset; you're the opposite of a passive "go-between"-you drive solutions, not just messagesHands-on experience working in an Agile product development environment, collaborating closely with cross-functional teamsA customer-centric approach combined with strong organizational awareness; you're curious and adaptable with tremendous learning agilityStrong analytical skills, using both quantitative data and qualitative insights to define problems and develop effective solutionsA proven track record of building trusted, productive relationships with internal teams and external stakeholdersExceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiencesThe ability to travel 5-6 times a year to College Board offices or on behalf of College Board businessAuthorization to work in the U.S.About Our Process Application review will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filledWhile the hiring process may vary, it generally includes: resume and application submission, recruiter phone/video screen, hiring manager interview, performance exercise and/or panel interview, and reference checks.About Our Benefits and CompensationCollege Board offers a competitive benefits and compensation program that attracts top talent looking to make a difference in education. College Board differentiates salaries by location so where you live will narrow the portion of this range in which you can expect a salary.Your salary will be carefully determined based on your location, relevant experience, the external labor market, and the pay of College Board employees in similar roles.
