JPMorgan Chase Econometrician Executive Director - Consumer & Business Intelligence in New York, New York

As an Econometrician Executive Director in Consumer & Business Intelligence group, you will help drive the analytics of consumer and business data, through modeling, measure development, and forecasting. You will collaborate with economists, data scientists, and the broader Consumer & Business Intelligence team to shape the narrative about the health of consumers and small businesses.
Job Responsibilities:
Drive the econometric research agenda and play a leading role in developing cutting edge econometric tools and techniques
Analyze a variety of internal metrics to better understand the health of consumers and businesses
Model relationships between internal metrics and external measures and benchmarks
Develop new indexes and metrics based on internal data
Generate forecasts for key business indicators
Create tools for event analysis
Create data visualizations to enhance storytelling around complex data
Collaborate with economists on research projects
Contribute to the critical thinking and thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment that prides itself on attention to detail and results
Help develop presentations to summarize and communicate key messages to senior management, sponsors and colleagues
Actively contribute to the continuous learning mindset of the organization by bringing in new ideas and perspectives that stretch the thinking of the group
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in highly analytical role and a BS degree in a related field
Advanced analytical mindset; you love digging into the data and defining what it tells you
Exceptional programming experience and knowledge of statistical techniques; experience with data visualization; experience with one or more of R, Python, SQL, SAS
Hands on experience with a wide variety of econometric or machine learning tools and techniques
Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with all levels of employees
Exceptional problem solving skills and ability to adjust to evolving business and financial climate
Familiarity with macroeconomic data and concepts
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Master's degree or PhD in relevant field preferred
Past work in econometrics or data science preferred
Demonstrated commitment to innovation through patents, publications, conference presentations, etc
Experience managing junior talent
Experience in financial services industry
