PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans using dishwashers or by hand.

  • Ensure all items are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with health and safety regulations.

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including floors, walls, and countertops. Regularly remove trash and place it in designated containers.

  • Handle and maintain dishwashing equipment properly. Report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Kitchen Manager.

  • Replenish cleaning supplies, such as dish detergent, sanitizers, and towels, as needed.

  • Properly sort and organize clean dishes, utensils, and equipment for easy access and efficiency in the kitchen.

  • Assist in receiving deliveries and putting them away in appropriate storage areas.

  • Show willingness and ability to cross-train across various roles in the restaurant to ensure rapid growth in responsibilities and contribution to team success.

  • Support with any additional duties assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience as a dishwasher in a restaurant or similar environment is preferred but not required.

  • Must possess dexterity to operate industrial dishwashing machines, handle pots/pans, and other equipment, and perform tasks with attention to detail.

  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting.

  • Must be familiar with the measurement system.

  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to bend and reach overhead often.

  • Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
