Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Controller in New York, New York. This role will oversee all operational accounting, closing, financial reporting, and managing funding. The industry is fast-paced and requires an individual who can efficiently handle a high volume of checks due to the peak period.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all operational accounting functions

• Manage the closing process and year-end close

• Prepare for audits

• Handle financial reporting tasks including annual financial reporting

• Manage funding, specifically restricted funds

• Use Peachtree Sage and other general ledger systems for accounting functions

• Handle a high volume of checks including membership fees and renewals

• Execute year-end closings and budget processes efficiently

• Utilize skills in auditing to ensure accuracy in all operations. Requirements

• Proficient in Accounting Functions

• Knowledgeable in Auditing

• Experienced in Budget Processes

• Capable of Annual Financial Reporting

• Able to conduct Year-End Closings

• Familiar with General Ledger System

• Has experience using Peachtree Sage software

• Strong leadership skills to oversee the financial department

• Excellent communication skills to report financial information to management

• Proven problem-solving skills to identify and resolve financial discrepancies

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Must ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
