Job Description

Budget Analyst, Clinical Research Finance

Exciting Opportunity at MSK:Join our team as a Budget Analyst in Clinical Research Finance. The Clinical Research Finance unit is responsible for the fiscal management of clinical research at MSK from protocol budget development through revenue management.

You will work with industry and other external sponsors, Principal Investigators, and research collaborators on budget development, negotiation, and contract payment terms. This position reports directly to the Manager, Budget Analysis.

Role Overview:

  • Review and interpret clinical research protocols and develop budgets to capture trial activity

  • Partner with Research Managers, Principal Investigators, Contract Managers, Research Financial Managers, and other team members in ORPA, Clinical Research Administration, to ensure complete, comprehensive, and timely budgets.

  • Negotiate directly with industry sponsors to reach agreement on budget and payment terms

  • Align with Human Participant Protection & Regulatory Compliance requirements

  • Work independently and collaboratively on special projects and initiatives as assigned

    Key Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in clinical research or financial field, preferably in an oncology setting

  • Experience in budget development, clinical trials agreements, invoicing, and/or fiscal management preferred

  • Experience with clinical trial operations preferred

  • Administrative skills required include prioritization, time management, and ability to develop and analyze reports

  • Outstanding communication.

  • Ability to apply a broad range of technical and specialized knowledge and significant job-related experience to handle complex work assignments

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving to optimize negotiation outcomes and operational efficiency.

    Additional Information:

  • This position is a fully remote role with no on-site time, consistent with the overall unit. An individual may request for a hybrid option to allow some travel to campus.

    Pay Range:$73,900 - $114,000.
