Backend Engineer (Bilt Technologies, Inc., New York, NY): Investigating and utilizing the full suite of Google Cloud computing services to improve application architecture performance through producing a platform with flexibility and reliability; Implementing microservices using Java and Quarkus frameworks to improve the software associated with the service-oriented architecture used with our application; Integrating third-party Application Programming Interfaces into the infrastructure to facilitate payments, banking, loyalty, commerce, and property management services; Proposing automation improvement plans to enhance the functionality of infrastructure as code processes, CI/CD practices, application performance monitoring abilities, and timely notification procedures pertinent to isolating sources of system failures; Contributing in all phases of the development lifecycle to ensure a thorough comprehension of each element relevant to our back-end infrastructure, including but not limited to executing the drafting, testing, and release of code capable of demonstrating flexibility and reliability on an ongoing basis; and Collaborating with the Head of Engineering and Head of Product on back-end initiatives focused on maximizing scalability capabilities in support of our growing consumer base, and training and mentoring junior resources on execution and sustainability. Must have experience with the following in order to complete the above-mentioned tasks: Experience with Java; Experience with data modeling in a relational database such as Postgres; Experience developing RESTful APIs; Experience working with microservice architecture; Experience working Java frameworks such as Spring; and Experience working with a cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. Requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, and at least four (4) years of experience as a Software Engineer or a related occupation.
