Position Summary
The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences is seeking a Full-time Temporary Associate Web Project Manager specializing in Web Design & Development. This 6-month role will focus on managing, launching, and maintaining Columbia's digital platforms, including the main Drupal 10 site, Columbia Sites, and custom WordPress builds. The Associate Web Project Manager will function as a part-time "website owner," collaborating with the Web Content Strategist to meet the increasing technical and maintenance demands, particularly during platform migrations. This role will be responsible for departmental migrations, with a focus on enhancing and maintaining Columbia Engineering's digital presence. This is a full-time, temporary position aimed at supporting the ongoing digital needs of Columbia Engineering during a critical phase of website migration and ongoing platform development.
Responsibilities
Migration Management (35%):
- Lead the migration of Engineering Department websites from Drupal 7 to Drupal 10.
- Provide technical support throughout the migration process.
- Apply information architecture principles to optimize user experience.
- Implement redirects, manage staging, and oversee user acceptance testing.
Website Maintenance & Operations ( 35%):
- Oversee daily website updates, including posting news stories and updating homepages.
- Maintain event listings and microsites (e.g., Magazine, Lever).
- Support departmental and CU Sites, ensuring consistent branding and content integrity.
Development Support (15%):
- Assist with user testing and gather feedback for design and functionality improvements.
- Ensure digital assets are optimized for usability and accessibility.
Department Support (10%)
- Advise academic departments on usability and accessibility best practices.
- Ensure a seamless user experience across all Engineering websites.
(5%) Perform related duties as assigned to meet evolving operational needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
- Expertise in Drupal and WordPress platforms.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and responsive web design.
- Demonstrated experience with website management and content updates.
- Familiarity with website accessibility standards and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in information architecture and content migration projects.
- Knowledge of UX/UI principles and graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Suite).
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Asana).
- Strong organizational and analytical skills for tracking website performance and driving improvements.
