Job Description: Project Description: Conduct review of project drawings and narratives at Master Plan, Scope of Work, and various Design phases for compliance with Fire, Code and ADA regulations, and provide comments to ensure compliance with New York State Fire and Building codes as well as with Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines ( "ADAAG "). Participate in field inspections on an as-needed basis.

Description of Work: Under direction, candidate will review capital projects in all phases of the project life cycle (pre-design through closeout phases) for compliance with State Fire and Building Codes as well as Federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Conduct review of project drawings and narratives at Master Plan, Scope of Work and various Design phases for compliance with State Fire and Building codes as well as ADA regulations, and provide comments. Attend design review meetings to ensure ADA regulations are incorporated into project designs. On occasion, conduct construction acceptance and/or maintenance inspections for Fire, Code and Accessibility inspections for station and facility rehabilitations to ensure compliance with State Fire and Building Codes as well as with the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG) standards and the contract documents.

Other Work Requirements Must pass track safety training at NYC Transit, MetroNorth Railroad or Long Island Rail Road, as needed Must provide safety boots that meet requirements at no cost to the MTA If offered to the consultant, must pass the NYS Code Enforcement Official Certification class
Education Requirement: Education Qualifications Requirements: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in an engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration or public administration AND three years' experience OR Four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent AND seven years' experience OR Four-year high school diploma or its equivalent plus any combination of college education and/or experience to make up the equivalent of SEVEN YEARS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Experience Requirements: Experience in project management will be commensurate with level of education (see above). Minimum of three years' experience having served in a supervisory capacity OR one year as a project manager for a large and/or complex construction project. One year of experience will be given for: o 30 semester credits of college education leading to a Bachelor's o A Master's degree from one of the disciplines described in #10 o A valid New York State license as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect

Special Skills/Training Requirements: Prefer candidates with the following special skills: Code Enforcement or Accessibility experience Experience with accessible and barrier-free design Fire Department Operations Experience Energy Conservation Experience or Knowledge Building Materials Knowledge Construction Management or Inspection Experience Knowledge of MS Office Suite
Hours: Normal Work Week: Monday to Friday
No. of Paid Hours Per Week: 40 hours (occasional overtime, when requested) (NYCT does not pay for lunch hours.)
Hours of Work: 8:00AM to 5:00PM
80% Technical Functions, 20% Administrative Functions
60% Office Location, 40% Field Locations
