Amazon Director, US Data & AI Sales in New York City, New York

Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced sales leader to help our customers accelerate their boldest Data and AI initiatives leveraging a combination of AWS Generative AI capabilities and the Modern Data Architecture. As the Director of US Data and AI Sales, you will lead a team of Leader of Leaders, Specialist Sales Managers, and Sales Specialists focused on driving revenue growth and customer adoption across four domains: Generative AI and AI/ML, Analytics, Database, and Storage. You will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, managing US revenue targets, and accelerating our customers’ top Data and AI relevant industry use cases across Travel and Hospitality, DNB, Financial Services, Telecommunications, Media, Gaming, Sports, Healthcare, Automotive, Manufacturing, and Retail.

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years of sales leadership experience in the Data and AI space, with a minimum of 5 years in second-line management (Lead of Leaders) roles.

• Proven track record of driving revenue growth and leading high-performing sales teams.

• Deep understanding of Data and AI technologies, trends, and customer challenges.

• Excellent strategic thinking, executive presence, communication, and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work cross-functionally and influence at the executive level.

• Strong customer-focused mindset and experience managing complex sales cycles.

• Experience with AWS products and services is preferred.

This is a high-visibility role responsible for driving AWS's Data and AI sales strategy across the United States. If you are a seasoned sales leader with a passion for Data and AI technologies and a track record of success, we encourage you to apply.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills.

• Experience communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple teams, as well as internal and external executive stakeholders.

• Established track record of building rapport with customer executives (e.g. CEO, COO, CIO, CTO, CMO), building close relationships, and closing large revenue accounts.

• Experience and success in negotiating complex deals with customers and partners. You've not only carried quotas, you've consistently exceeded them by doing the right thing for your customer.

• Breadth and depth in multiple enterprise functional areas in multiple industries a plus.

• Experienced managing an org size of at least 50 people.

• Experience in a heavily matrixed sales environment, including developing, implementing, managing, and executing cross-functional solutions-led go-to-market growth initiatives and sales motion.

• Deep understanding of cloud technologies, including public and hybrid cloud platforms.

• Technical background in engineering, computer science, or MIS a plus.

• Recognized industry expertise in Data, Analytics, and/or AI/ML, with proven public speaking and media prowess.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $224,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $333,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. This position is eligible for variable pay via a sales compensation plan. These plans pay according to achievement level against sales targets and/or business objectives. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
