Description

We’re looking for people with demonstrated design and construction sourcing and procurement management experience. You will drive multiple projects simultaneously, across multiple banners and formats, defining timelines and communicating on status, risks, and process changes. You will need to thrive and deliver results in an ambiguous, fast-paced, dynamic business environment, operating in all levels of the organization. You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity and pace that’s higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving hard problems. You will use a combination of outstanding cross-functional thinking, business judgment, and strategic thinking to innovate on behalf of customers. Your demonstrated experience and professionalism will allow you to develop the Sourcing and Procurement function in a rapidly growing business environment. Build relationships with key stakeholders in order to gather category requirements and specifications from departments, category, and subject matter experts. Identify and process new vendor and negotiate contracts and agreement for new products and services needed. Collaborate with Indirect Procurement to facilitate vendor sourcing activities ranging from RFP to master agreement and work order negotiation and execution. Innovate within the space creating, automating or improving tools or processes that support better management of vendors, invoicing, payments and associated spends within the project. Ability to take appropriate corrective action with suppliers to ensure their compliance with purchase orders, contractual terms and any necessary compliance for poor performance.

• cultivate strong relationships with supplier network and with key client and suppliers that result in high customer satisfaction.

• analyze, distill, synthesize, and draw conclusions on large amounts of data.

A day in the life

We are looking for people that can solve hard problems, innovate across many dimensions, and challenge the status quo. The Senior Manager of Sourcing & Procurement will lead a team, setting strategic direction, and developing the sourcing and procurement function within Design, Development and Facilities. You will manage a team of sourcing and procurement managers, as well as create and improve sourcing and procurement strategies, tools and processes to execute and ensure on time development of stores, working closely with store design and construction, operations, merchandising, supply chain, finance, broader Amazon and Whole Foods Market sourcing teams and external vendors.

The sourcing & procurement team is a group of dynamic individuals that are rooted in supporting the goals of the business through strategy and standards. This team helps to set the standards and then to support how they come to life in our projects.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of team management experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
