Power-Flo Technologies is seeking a shop laborer to join our New Hyde Park shop. The shop laborer will support building electrical equipment such as custom panelboards, switchboards, pullboxes, cabinets, retrofits, and more.

Full Time. Monday – Friday, 7 AM – 3:30 PM.

Pay Range: $18 - $22/hour

Shop Laborer Responsibilities :

• Assist welders, assemblers, mechanics, and technicians on-site

• Working with design team to complete switchgear packages

• Measuring and cutting materials to specifications

• Assembly of switchboard enclosures and interior electrical components

• Use power tools, hand tools, and other machinery

• Checking finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints

• Preparing completed packages for shipment

• Follow company safety guidelines at all times

Shop Laborer Necessary Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and in a team setting

• Familiar with taking measurements and working with a ruler

• Familiar with assembling components

• Able to follow instructions in a proper manner

• Familiar with shop tools (hand tools, power tools, etc)

• Basic knowledge regarding use of a PC

• Mechanically inclined

• Competent with the use of electrical test equipment, i.e. Multi meter, shop tools, hand tools, pneumatic tools, hoists, etc.

• A valid and clean driver's license to operate company vehicles as needed

Shop Laborer Physical Requirements :

• Ability to stand for up to 8 Hours.

• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

• Ability to work on elevated platforms.

• Ability to climb ladders.

• This position may require standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching and/or reaching.

• You may be exposed to dust, loud noises, and hot and cold conditions.

• Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills may be required for hand tools, power tools, and other machinery.
