Job Description

Responsible to focus on priority populations affected by gun violence. Works for the development and coordination of the peer education program within established program guidelines. Will work with peer educators to create outreach and education opportunities throughout the entire service area, developing and providing public education, awareness and active outreach in gun violence prevention.

Job Responsibility

Oversees the overall implementation of the peer education grant; work closely with peer educators in the coordination and development of outreach and peer led initiatives.

Prepares and submits required reports as needed.

Promotes appropriate health information within the community by identifying key community leaders and organizations, as well as other community characteristics, to be able to find and engage target population.

Provides assistance and guidance to peer educators on work plan goals and objectives; provides orientation and training for peer educators as needed.

Identifies community service resources; build and maintain strong relationships with networks of community resources.

Educates community leaders on the importance of screening and accessing services to help promote gun violence prevention in their communities.

Participates in required training- including but not limited to trips to Albany.

Job Qualification

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

The salary range for this position is $39,290-$59,800/year
