Actalent Electrical Engineer-Power Electronics in New Freedom, Pennsylvania

What You Will Do

As a technical expert within the Power Electronics Department, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and maintaining power electronics products and systems

How You Will Do It

• Technical Development: Determine the best techniques, procedures, and theories for the development of power electronics products and systems.

• Compliance Procedures: Create compliance procedures for the development of electrical/electronic circuitry designs.

• Design Specifications: Define and interpret design specifications; design electrical/electronic circuitry to meet specified requirements; analyze product design requirements and recommend solutions.

• Documentation: Prepare and coordinate the release of documentation to support component design and manufacturing.

• Preliminary Design: Participate in all aspects of preliminary design and systems architecture; conduct analysis of the cost impacts of proposed modifications, upgrades, and new implementations of application software.

• Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies and systems analysis for new applications or major modifications of existing systems.

• Collaboration: Work with other engineers, designers, and technicians on specific work assignments.

• Scheduling: Forecast and schedule work activities; define processes for repetitive tasks.

• Troubleshooting: Act as the technical lead for troubleshooting field and factory issues on the range of power electronics products and systems.

• Travel: Occasionally travel to visit customers, factories, vendors, and/or professional conferences.

• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with global and cross-functional teams.

What We Look For

Required:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Electronics is a plus.

• Strong experience as an individual contributor in the field of Power Electronics or Systems, particularly with 480-600 Volt Systems.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong understanding of high voltage equipment safety.

• Ability to travel for a couple of days per month.

Preferred:

• MS degree with a focus in Power Electronics.

• Strong experience in power electronics and understanding of motor controls.

• Proficiency with advanced tools such as Matlab/Simulink, OPAL-RT, Saber, or similar.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
