West Central Job Partnership Mercer/Lawrence Co & Admin CRC Program Aide in New Castle, Pennsylvania

Successful candidate will provide multi-functional support for the Lawrence County/New Castle office.  Must have excellent communication skills, be customer-oriented, flexibility/ability to multi-task, excellent phone skills, professional appearance, computer proficient/data input experience, general clerical skills and ability to smile. Will provide general information regarding services and activities conducted in our office, and assist CareerLink® customers with computer use.  Will be sensitive to individual customer needs and provide quality customer service. May type reports, perform data input and other clerical duties as assigned. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Outlook e-mail, and job search activities. Must be reliable, punctual and have reliable transportation. This is a part-time, casual position (no benefits). Working hours are M-F, 5 hours per day; some schedule flexibility available. Tasks and Objectives:

  1. Greet CareerLink® customers at the Career Resource Area and assist them with using the computers. 
  2. Be familiar with CareerLink® operations and programs, activities, and personnel as well as those of the CareerLink® partner agencies and be able to refer customers to partner programs and services as appropriate.
  3.  Assist CareerLink® customers with password resets using information verified from the Comprehensive Workforce Development System (CWDS).
  4.  Assist CareerLink® customers with logging into the CWDS system, applying for positions, printing from the Career Resource Area computers, and troubleshoot any issues which may arise. 
  5. Type reports, maintain logs, perform data entry and other clerical skills as assigned, which may include and not limited to surveys, calendars, recruitment/job fair flyers, CRC signage, emailing, faxing, copying and scanning documents.
  6. May conduct training workshops, in person or virtually, for computer fundamentals, cell phones, and other topics relative to customer needs.
  7.  Act as back-up for the Receptionist, including:
    1. Greet CareerLink® customers and direct them to appropriate staff offices, meeting rooms or the Career Resource Area.
    2. Log customers' entry to and exit from the building in a computerized foot traffic database.
    3. Answer telephones and direct calls to the appropriate staff extensions.
  8. Must possess excellent communications skills, professional appearance, and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
  9. Exercise confidentiality in all aspects of the day to day functions of the CareerLink® and information pertaining to employers and individual job seekers.
  10. Be an effective team member of the CareerLink® by participating in meetings and training sessions as requested.
  11. Accomplish all other tasks as requested and directed by the PA Site Administrator in a timely fashion.
