The Division of Enrollment Management at Rutgers University-New Brunswick (EMNB) is comprised of seven student-facing and administrative units: Undergraduate Admissions, the Office of Financial Aid, the Office of the Registrar, and the One Stop Student Services Center, as well as business, information technology, and strategy and analytics administrative teams. Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Director for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions - New Brunswick. The position will report to the Director for Applicant Evaluation.Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Assists the Director with all aspects of the managing the online applications and decision status notification process for 10 New Brunswick undergraduate colleges.
  • Provides first-line supervision and training for decision audit and application review staff.
  • Performs other assignments as required by the Director of Admissions and the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management.
  • Assists the Director in communicating with university personnel representing State and Federal Government Relations, deans, academic, and administrative units.
  • Responds to requests of information concerning the status of admissions applications.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five (5) years of professional undergraduate competitive admissions experience in a large, multi-campus educational institution, including exposure to working with faculties and academic administrators.
Certifications/Licenses
  • A valid driver's license would be required for this position; Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Attention to detail and time management skills to handle considerable and varied responsibilities in a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Experience with group leading and delegation of work assignments.
  • Experience in creating instruction manuals and supervising the training of new staff, seasonal employees and permanent professional/administrative staff in procedures and policies.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational, public-speaking and writing skills along with an effective professional presentation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • An advanced degree.
  • Familiarity with state and federal legislation pertaining to higher education.
