Flagger Force Crew Member in Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania

POSITION SUMMARY:

Crew members are responsible for providing safe, quality guidance to motorists and pedestrians in Flagger Force work zones, while acting in accordance with company values, vision, and mission. Flagger Force offers the opportunity for a career with the ability to quickly promote to a crew leader; at the crew leader level a company vehicle is assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Protect our people, clients, and the public in work zones by providing compliant traffic control services in accordance with all applicable traffic safety regulations, training requirements, and Flagger Force best practices.
  2. Give direction to motorists and pedestrians using traffic control signaling devices to provide a safe environment in frequently changing situations, including emergency situations.
  3. Ability to verbally communicate instructions clearly, firmly, and courteously; be able to give and receive instructions in English.
  4. Set up, tear down, and transport cones, signs, and other special equipment.
  5. Recognize dangerous traffic situations and provide warning in sufficient time to avoid injury.
  6. Continuous awareness of surroundings and sound mental alertness with the ability to react and make sound decisions under stressful and emergency situations.
  7. Ability to use stop/slow paddle, two-way radio, and smart phone applications.
  8. Maintain good attendance by working when and where directed.
  9. Ability to work in all weather conditions, be on your feet, standing 8 to 12 consecutive hours per day, walk 1 to 2 miles a day, lift or carry up to 50 lbs., and frequently lift up to 25 lbs.
  10. Ability to maneuver on various terrain and un-even surfaces and move quickly out of the way of potential hazards.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. You must be 18 years or older
  2. You will need a reliable, personal vehicle (transportation support may be provided on a case-by-case basis)
  3. You will need to obtain and bring with you two-way radios and steel toe boots to New Hire Orientation
  4. You must provide a valid driver's license or state ID and social security card during New Hire Orientation

HOURS EXPECTATIONS:

Most employees average 35 hours per week, year round. You can choose to work more hours, if available.
