Intervala, LLC SMT (Surface Mount) Operator in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania

Job Summary:

In this role, you build surface mount (SMT) and mixed technology printed circuit board assemblies, placing components on boards per controlled parts lists, drawing documentation, and quality workmanship guidelines.   

The ideal employee in this role has the following attributes:

    • You can set up, adjust, and operate assigned production equipment, using both automated equipment and manual placement, while achieving goals for quality, efficiency and productivity
    • You monitor the operation of equipment to ensure that assemblies are built to print and in compliance with applicable workmanship standards

    • You assist with rework through hand soldering and advanced troubleshooting
    • You inspect printed solder paste and component alignment for accuracy
    • You identify defects in accordance with applicable workmanship standard and class
  • Detail focused
    • You can ensure that equipment and processes remain within acceptable parameters through quality audits, monitoring and troubleshooting
    • You maintain necessary logs and records
    • You perform manual placement of SMT and PIH components
    • You load feeders for equipment and wash boards as needed   

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, specifications, drawings, schematics, process sheets, wiring diagrams, and small print
  • Intermediate level in MS Office applications (Word and Excel)
  • Advanced understanding of SMT theories (i.e., reflow profiling, screen printing defects, etc.)
  • Ability to read and understand load plans
  • Advanced component identification skills
  • Recognize and identify the different types of solder paste and their applications
  • Use a variety of hand tools, including calipers
  • Mechanical ability to troubleshoot and correct mechanical problems with assigned production equipment
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to produce quality results
  • Ability to work in a high volume, high detail work environment
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to manipulate and work with tedious and small parts
  • Strong decision-making skills; utilizing sound judgement and thorough processes
  • Ability to initiate projects and tasks as required to fulfill goals and deadlines
  • Ability to be creative and innovative with solutions, problem resolution and product/ project assignments

*Required Experience & Education *

  • Associates degree in related field highly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant job experience
