Atlantic Health System PER DIEM, Patient Care Technician I, Head & Neck Surgery in Morristown, New Jersey

Accountabilities:

  • The Patient Care Technician I - could be responsible for greeting and preparing for patients, managing patient flow, completing patient intake into EPIC system, and maintaining exam rooms including cleaning and keeping inventory/ordering supplies.

  • Administrative responsibilities may include managing phones and scheduling patients when needed, patient registration and check-in/out, handling patient prescriptions and pre-authorization for diagnostic testing as well as directing patients in all phases of their experience with the practice.

  • The Patient Care Technician I could be responsible for assisting with the pre-operative testing and clearance workflow. This could include requesting applicable testing, scheduling appointments and remaining in contact with surgical patients.

  • This position may require extended working hours, including late evenings and travel among all of our current and future sites.

    Required:

    High School Diploma or GED required

    Preferred:

    Two years medical office experience preferred

    Experience with an EMR system desired (preferably EPIC)

  • Able to work flexible hours if necessary to accommodate practice hours

  • Ability to travel to different practices if necessary

  • Strong computer skills and front-line customer service skills essential
