Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accountant in Morristown, New Jersey. As an Accountant, you will be tasked with various responsibilities spanning from maintaining accurate records to ensuring compliance with company accounting policies.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the accurate and timely recording of North America payroll entries, including various costs.
• Work closely with your Treasury contact to prepare weekly and monthly supporting schedules for the firm’s Accounts Receivable Securitization facility.
• Maintain the firm’s global General Ledger (G/L) cash balance schedule on a monthly basis, ensuring all bank reconciliations are prepared and submitted in accordance with firm’s internal policy requirements.
• Review the North America Prepaid schedules for completeness and accuracy, collaborating with the staff accountant based out of Mumbai.
• Prepare or review supporting workpapers for the company’s external auditors during the annual audit process.
• Ensure Account Reconciliations are prepared and approved within the established timeline by maintaining oversight of the company’s Balance Sheet Control Matrix.
• Perform quarterly audits of key Account Reconciliations to ensure strict compliance with policy.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders from the Finance organization to ensure compliance with company accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Record, reconcile, and maintain all general ledger activity related to Work in Progress (WIP) and Deferred Revenue. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook is required
• Experience with operations, procedures, and policy is necessary
• Demonstrated knowledge of compliance and payroll processes
• Ability to review and manage Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Audit experience is essential, specifically in external audit
• Background in finance, including balance sheet accounts
• Proven experience in performing reconciliations, including bank reconciliations
• Understanding of the general ledger and account reconciliation process
• Track record of making progress in complex accounting scenarios
• Excellent communication skills to interact with various stakeholders
• Ability to ensure compliance and maintain internal control systems
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
• Oversight experience in managing financial activities
• Knowledge of GAAP Accounting principles is a must
