Honeywell Manager, SOX in Morris Plains, New Jersey

This position is intended to convey to the new, independent company, to be named Solstice Advanced Materials when the separation occurs. This is expected to occur in late 2025 or early 2026.

Honeywell is hiring a Manager, SOX. This is a high visibility role that will partner with leaders in the corporate functions regarding internal control matters. This role requires the ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. This role will be responsible for driving awareness and accountability of SOX compliance requirements.

This role will sit in either Morris Plains, NJ and will operate on a hybrid work schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand the process and internal controls for Corporate functions

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, including leveraging technology and tools

  • Drive awareness and accountability of SOX compliance requirements

  • Communicate responsibilities to business and functional leadership, leveraging the three lines of defense model

  • Communicate control deficiencies and findings to functional leadership

  • Project manage issues identified resulting from Corporate Audit, SOX testing or self-identified issues

  • Project manage External Audit internal control requests

  • Partner with Manager, Controllership Transformation to improve the efficiency and quality of our SOX program

  • Support internal controls reporting for leadership, including Audit Committee package

  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives as required.

In October, 2024 Honeywell announced the spin-off of our Advanced Materials business to become a stand-alone publicly traded company, independent of Honeywell. Our intention is that this role, dedicated to the Advanced Materials business, will be a part of this future transaction when the separation occurs.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 6+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance

  • 4+ years of foundational knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls (COSO and SOX), audit methodology and business processes.

  • Experience working in a public accounting firm or large enterprise environment.

  • CPA
